Setting your rates
You can specify your standard hourly rate for new students via your tutor profile (My account > Profile).
Once you're linked to a student, the rate for that student will be set using the rate on your tutor profile. When you change the rate on your tutor profile, it will not affect the rate set for your existing students.
Different rates can be set for different students. If you'd like to change the rate set for one of your students, please contact us (Help > Contact) and we can do this for you.
Note: Your rate is the amount you wish to receive, without deduction. The agency fee will be added to your rate to give the total amount charged to the client.
Online lesson billing
Room entry
Students need to have at least 1 hours worth of funds in their Wallet in order to enter your Tutor Room (unless you award them a free trial). This is the total of your hourly rate with the student, plus our agency fee, which is the amount the amount displayed for the student.
Billing duration
The student is billed automatically within 20 minutes of the lesson ending, depending upon how long the lesson lasted. If you're doing a 1 hour lesson then you can over run by up to 14 minutes and the student will still only be charged for 1 hour. If you're doing a 30 or 45 minute lesson then you can over run by up to 9 minutes without the student being charged any extra. Lessons lasting less than 20 minutes are billed at £0. However, the automatic billing can easily be manually adjusted afterwards, if required (see adjustments below).
